The Genesis Electrified GV70 made its first European appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month. The fully electric version of the highly lauded GV70 compact luxury SUV marks the company's third battery-powered nameplate, joining the GV60 and Electrified G80. It's yet another arrow in the manufacturer's quiver as it aims to deliver a more sustainable future for automotive luxury.

A Car and Driver Editor's Choice and Edmunds Top Rated small luxury SUV, the Genesis GV70 is renowned for its superb accommodations, comfortable yet engaging dynamics, and excellent versatility. These attributes provide an ideal platform for Genesis' next premium electric utility vehicle.

At Goodwood, the Electrified GV70 showcased its innovative vehicle-to-load technology, using its battery to supply auxiliary power to multiple household appliances and assisting with wider estate services. With the ability to output up to 220V or 3.6kW, the Electrified GV70 generates more power than the average, allowing it to serve as a mobile power bank capable of running and charging everything from smartphones and power tools to other EVs.

"We are delighted to unveil the Electrified GV70 for the very first time in Europe at the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. Featuring our cutting-edge electrical architecture and focus on luxurious sustainability, it represents another big step in our commitment to deliver an all-electric lineup of vehicles by 2025," said Dominique Boesch, Managing Director for Genesis Motor Europe. "As with our other SUV models, it retains exceptional versatility and usability, as well as unrivaled comfort and driving pleasure. As the third new electric car from Genesis to be launched in Europe in under a year, the Electrified GV70 is further evidence of the brand's bold ambitions for the region."

Genesis won't release full pricing and specifications until later this summer. But we do know that Electrified GV70 will feature 400V/800V multi-rapid charging. Also found in the earlier-launched GV60, this technology makes the Electrified GV70 one of the few currently compatible EVs with 350kW ultra-fast DC charging. With the ability to replenish its battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, it makes electrified Genesis models even more practical for long-distance road trips.
