Last September, Genesis unveiled its first fully electric nameplate without a gas-powered counterpart, the GV60. With its striking design, luxuriously modern accommodations, and cutting-edge technology inside and out, the all-new subcompact premium crossover provides a stunning glimpse of Genesis' electric future. The all-wheel-drive GV60 Advanced is powered by a 77.4-kWh battery pack feeding a pair of axle-mounted electric motors, generating 314 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque while achieving an EPA-estimated 248 miles of range. Driver's seeking even more thrills can select the available 429-horsepower GV60 Performance (235-mile range), which can temporarily output 483 hp in Boost mode, enough power to spring to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds.

But while the GV60 offers practical emissions-free range and invigorating performance, it was the SUV's unique design that stole the show at this year's annual Red Dot Awards. The Genesis GV60 took home top honors for Product Design in the "Cars and Motorcycles" category.

Exhibiting Genesis' eye-catching Athletic Elegance design philosophy, the GV60 is equal parts sleek and assertive, with graceful curves, a confident stance, seamless sculpting highlighted by elements like a clamshell hood, two-line headlamp clusters, and a streamlined profile. The GV60's spacious cabin also garnered attention at the Red Dot Awards for its exhibition of Genesis' futuristic interior design ethos, Beauty of White Space.

"The GV60 is a significant model for Genesis; it's the first vehicle reflecting the vision for electrification that we announced last year," said a Genesis spokesperson. "(The GV60) showcases the elegance of Genesis in its own way — the blending of art and technology into the epitome of a high-tech global luxury experience for our customers. Today's award is the fruit of the passion and dedication of our designers and engineers, of their determination to make a dream come true."

Red Dot was established in 1955 and is one of the world's most prestigious design competitions. The annual awards—held by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany—recognize excellence in three categories: product design, brands and communication design, and design concept.
