It didn't take long for Genesis to find its footing after becoming a standalone luxury marque. Earlier this month, Genesis received its first major accolade of 2023 when it took home two wins at the 2022 Good Design® Awards for the Genesis G90 and the automaker's Integrated Cockpit Infotainment System.
Presented annually since 1950, the Good Design® Awards are a joint effort by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies to recognize and celebrate excellence in design. For the 2022 awards, jurors carefully deliberated on over 1,100 submissions to select the best examples in 32 categories.
Genesis's flagship sedan, the G90, exemplifies the brand's design identity and values, exhibiting elegant and high-tech accommodations, powerful yet refined performance, and executive style. The G90 won an International Design Excellence Award in September of 2002 and was named "2023 Car of the Year" by MotorTrend the following November.
