Now in its 36th year, the U.S. Initial Quality Study tabulates and analyzes responses from verified new-vehicle owners about their experiences in the first 90 days of ownership. Rankings are based on a vehicle's PP100 score—the number of problems per 100 vehicles. For the 2023 study, J.D. Power received responses from more than 84,000 purchasers and lessees.
