The annual Tech Experience Study (TXI) aims to measure automakers' effectiveness at developing and implementing new technologies. It also gauges how well said technologies are received and the number of problems reported based on customer surveys. The TXI study analyzes 40 technologies across four categories: convenience, emerging automation, energy and sustainability, and infotainment/connectivity.
The Genesis GV80 earned the Emerging Automation award for its Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT) technology. This innovative safety feature combines front camera and corner radar units to form a comprehensive monitoring system. FCA-JT surpasses standard collision-mitigation systems by also detecting on-coming vehicles while turning left at an intersection. The system can then warn the driver and provide braking assistance to prevent a possible collision.
