With Genesis now firmly cemented as a luxury brand, the automaker is wasting no time jumping into the performance realm. The first performance model to be released will be the new GV60 Magma. The Magma will use the same platform as the GV60 but with a lowered stance and a more powerful engine. There’s much more to discuss about this forthcoming sports SUV, so continue to learn more.
Blistering Performance
While Genesis is no stranger to crafting fast vehicles, the current performance spot is held by the GV60 Performance trim. This trim outputs 429 horsepower with its twin motors. At present, the powertrain details are unknown for the new GV60 Magma. However, it’s likely the Magma will share at least some of its hardware with the 576-hp EV6 GT or the 641-hp Ioniq 5 N.
Unique Design
Inside and out, the new GV60 Magma looks to offer everything you could want from a sporty SUV. There are wider fender flares, larger grilles, and vents for battery and powertrain cooling. Additionally, there’s a rear wing for improved downforce and stability. Also, Genesis claims the wheels have aerodynamic benefits as the covers divert air to cool the brakes.
The interior includes rich napa leather upholstery, painted seat backs, and double-diamond contrast stitching. Drivers will also notice a screen sitting atop the passenger door panel. This is a live feed from the exterior side view cameras to make exiting much safer.
Race to the Future in the GV60 Magma
Technically, The GV60 Magma is still a concept, so Genesis hasn’t released much information about the vehicle. For now, all we can do is speculate on what was shown in the concept model. But as more information becomes available, we’ll update this article. So, check back for more information.
